IOP@FSU Discussion with Senator Angus King

Join the IOP@FSU for a discussion with Senator Angus King (I-Maine) hosted by IOP undergraduate fellows and IOP Director Hans Hassell focused on public service, bipartisanship, and civility in politics. Senator Angus King is one of two independents in the U.S. Senate and has represented the State of Maine since 2013. Prior to becoming a US Senator, he served as Governor of Maine, also as an independent, between 1995 and 2003.

The IOP@FSU is excited to host Margaret White, Executive Director of No Labels, and former Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT), in an event moderated by the Honorable Al Cardenas. Their discussion will highlight the importance of bipartisanship and political civility and focus on how we can encourage problem solving in a polarized Congress and in our own local communities.

Our new podcast series, Politics in the Sunshine, is moderated by former Republican Party of Florida Chair and Florida State University adjunct faculty member Al Cardenas. Our first guest is former Florida Governor Jeb Bush who was first elected to office in 1998, serving two terms in office through January 2007.
